One of Australia’s leading retail experts, Dr Louise Grimmer, will deliver a practical and interactive
business workshop in Devonport this month, ideally timed to position retailers well for summer
trading.
The event will be held on Wednesday 22 October 2025, from 5:30 PM to 7:15 PM at the Paranaple
Convention Centre, and is free to attend.
Dr Grimmer is a Senior Lecturer in Marketing at the University of Tasmania, a Fellow of the Institute
of Place Management (UK), and a member of the Australian Marketing Institute. She is recognised
nationally for her research into retail innovation, small business performance, and place-based
marketing, and is a frequent media commentator on the future of Australian retail. Her work has been
published in leading academic journals and featured across major outlets including The Conversation,
ABC News, and The Sydney Morning Herald.
DCCI President Claire Connelly said the Chamber is proud to bring Dr Grimmer to Devonport thanks to
the support of Business Tasmania.

workshop will provide attendees with practical, evidence-based tools to enhance customer

environment.” Mrs Connelly said.
The session is a joint initiative of Business Tasmania, Devonport Chamber of Commerce &Industry,
Central Coast Council and the Central Coast Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
