Devonport Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) is proud to announce the re-launch of its Business
Excellence Awards, supported by Principal Event Sponsor TasPorts – a prestigious celebration of the
achievements of local businesses and leaders.
This year’s revitalised program features 10 contemporary categories, including Skilled Trade Excellence,
Exceptional Food & Beverage, Access & Inclusion, Professional Services, The Geraldine Sheehan Women in
Business Trailblazer, People’s Choice and more.
“The Awards showcase the diversity and strength of our local enterprise while fostering pride, visibility,
and collaboration across Devonport and surrounding areas. We encourage businesses of all sizes and
sectors to get involved,” said Claire Connelly, President of DCCI.
Nominations open 1 September and can be made either directly by businesses or by the public, who are
encouraged to nominate their favourite local enterprises. Finalists will be announced in October, with
winners revealed at a black-tie red-carpet event on 15 November at the paranaple Convention Centre,
Devonport.
“Through a digital-first nomination process, inclusive categories, and a focus on celebrating success, we’re
not only spotlighting excellence – we’re also building the visibility, confidence, and capacity of local
businesses. This event is about more than trophies – it’s about reinforcing Devonport’s identity as a thriving
hub to do business, invest, and grow,” Mrs Connelly said.
Devonport Mayor Alison Jarman said:
“I am so pleased to see the Business Excellence Awards return in 2025 – revitalised and refreshed to
celebrate the incredible diversity of businesses across Devonport. I am especially proud to see the
introduction of the new Access and Inclusion Award. This important category stems directly from the work
of our Access and Inclusion Group, supported by Devonport City Council, and it recognises businesses who
are leading the way in creating welcoming and inclusive environments for all members of our community.”
The black-tie gala will bring together more than 150 businesses, change makers, and community leaders for
a night of celebration and recognition.
The 2025 DCCI Business Excellence Awards are proudly presented with the support of our Principal Event
Sponsor, TasPorts.
We also acknowledge and thank our Media Partner – 7AD and SeaFM and Award Category Sponsors –
Page Hire, Hospitality Tas, St Lukes, TasTAFE, Entrepreneurial Business School, The Alley Entertainment,
