April 2023

The Chamber has had another busy month with several events and the launch of our new website. The new website provides an engaging and user-friendly experience featuring an events calendar, member directory, and news section to keep you updated on the latest happenings.

Early in March, we hosted an extremely successful International Women’s Day breakfast event. Plans are already underway for next year’s celebration, along with a special event for International Men’s Day in November. On March 22nd, we held another breakfast event with Guest Speaker, Kelly Brown from Business Tasmania. Kelly shared valuable insights into how Business Tasmania provides support to the business community, including tailored guidance and assistance in accessing funding programs and resources. Today’s breakfast event attracted a large crowd interested in learning about the latest advancements in artificial intelligence and language models. The event highlighted how businesses are utilising ChatGPT to improve their operations and increase profitability.

Again, thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to seeing you at our future events.

Kind regards

Our New Website is Live

We are excited to announce the release of our new website that has been designed to offer an engaging and user-friendly experience. The website features an events calendar, and a news section to keep our community up-to-date with the latest happenings.

By highlighting the benefits of becoming a member of the DCCI and showcasing the various services and programs we offer, our website serves as a valuable resource for businesses looking to grow and thrive.

Our team is currently developing the Member Directory, which will feature a comprehensive list of our members, including their logos, an overview of their business, and contact information. With a contemporary design that reflects our dynamic and vibrant organisation, we are proud to have reached this milestone and look forward to serving our members with this valuable tool.

Tasmanian Tourism Awards

The Tourism Industry Council Tasmania (TICT) awards are an annual event that recognises the achievements of tourism businesses and individuals in Tasmania. The awards are open to a wide range of businesses, including accommodation providers, tour operators, attractions, and restaurants, among others. There are various categories, including best new business, best cultural tourism experience, and best tourism restaurant, among others. The awards also recognise individuals, such as tourism industry employees, who have made significant contributions to the industry.

Nominations open in April. To be eligible for the TICT awards, businesses must demonstrate excellence in areas such as customer service, sustainability, and innovation. The awards are judged by a panel of industry experts who evaluate each entry based on a set of criteria specific to the category. Winners of the TICT awards are announced at a gala event, where finalists and winners are celebrated for their achievements and contributions to the tourism industry in Tasmania. Read more
